When I click the Play button, the status bar bit rate changes for a less then a second to 321 or even as high as 380?, then back too 320 where it remains throughout the remainder of the song. When I highlighting the file it reads as 320.
However, not having enough experience with Foobar, I’m not sure what’s going on. I do notice something going on with the Status Bar though. There are no right-click options that allow me to see bit rate info dynamically, beyond the properties window, which has two TABS. I suspect you meant right-clicking on the mp3 file in the play list, so that’s what I did. In addition to changing it to 1 as trial an error to see what it does, I was unable to find the right-click window panes you referred to. I did spend about 30 minutes working with Foobar only to find a setting under the Display sections of the preferences titled, “VBR bitrate update per seconds”, and has a default value of 2.
